What a fun 4th of July! Independence Day was on a Friday this year which is so great! I am big fan of holidays on Fridays! On Thursday night, we went to Addison to celebrate with my parents. Their company office is located in one of the hangars at Addison airport, and they throw a party every year in one of the hangars! So fun! These 3 are ready to party!
You can’t beat an air conditioned view of the air show!
Didn’t they do a great job of decorating the hangar?
The Cavanaugh Flight Museum was closed, but we were able to get a private tour of all of the cool, old planes.
And, yes, Presley is carrying around a neon orange football, because she has two older brothers. 😉
And, it isn’t lost on me that 40 years ago, my dad, who grew up in a house with a dirt floor, came to the US on a wing and a prayer…he worked hard to make a life for us…and now his granddaughter watches fireworks on an airplane tarmac without a care in the world. It’s one of the many reasons that I love this country. We have so much to be thankful for.
On Friday morning, we had the Slaughter’s over for homemade cinnamon rolls, quiche, and OJ. The rolls turned out great! I still hadn’t pulled out my big camera, but I did snap a few pics after they left.
And, Andrea got a fun pic of our little family! We are so blessed to live in such an incredible country! Happy Birthday, America!! XOXO
