Weekend Review

This weekend was so nice! šŸ™‚ We have been burning both ends of the candle prepping and putting the house on the market for the past few weeks, but this weekend we were able to just relax and have some downtime! I love a good quiet weekend!!

Jackson is going to be in a play in a few weeks at our church, and he had his first set of rehearsals this weekend. We dropped the younger two off with my parents while Jackson rehearsed Friday night and had our favorite: Mexican Food! šŸ™‚ A date night with this guy is good for my heart!

Saturday morning, I had two fun sessions, and then I had some girl time with my sweet Presley. After that, we spent the rest of the day playing and grilling burgers.

Sunday, we went to church–and, yes, sometimes even the photographer’s kids can’t look at the camera AND smile simultaneously. Oh well! At least they all were happy in this one! šŸ™‚

I seem to be doing something odd with my eyes in this picture, but we are, if anything, super practical in the Dreffs house. So, friends, we totally will eat Sunday lunch at SAMs Club every once in a blue moon. There is something to be said for a lunch that feeds 5 people, costs $12, and involves bulk paper towels. šŸ˜‰ #weresofancy #wealreadyknow #keepinitreal

And, finally, on Sunday afternoon I blocked off an entire afternoon to read! We are always going fast and hard with work, the kids, and daily stuff…but I made a point to ignore the to do list and scheduled in some time for reading. The book I am reading isn’t anything groundbreaking, but it was pure heaven to just sit still and read for a few hours! I am totally going to doing more of this–I forgot how much I missed it! By the way, it is a cute book–a little Pg-13, but fun nonetheless!

What books are you reading this summer? I need to add more to my list! Have a great week!

  1. Sounds like a nice relaxing weekend! I just finished reading Sparkly Green Earrings and The Antelope in the Living Room and loved them both so much, so, so good and funny! Next up is Heaven is for Real….I’m a little behind on reading but just started back up recently and loving that quiet down time (especially with a 1 and 4 year old, it’s a slice of heaven)!!!

  3. I love that first picture of you and Rob! So sweet! And listen, I love that you blocked off time to read. I need to be better about doing that myself…thanks for the encouragement :).
