Oh goodness, today is Friday!  Today, I am hosting our super fun Friday Favorites with my girls Andrea and Erika!  In fact, it is the LAST Friday of summer!  How on Earth did that happen?  I know I say it all the time, but I cherish these summer months where their every moment is mine. To me, back to school means sharing my babies with their precious teachers, sports teams, and the rest of the world.

But really….

This summer was perfect, and Summer 2014 definitely had a story.  It was a story of being together, about embracing change and being blessed by it.  A story about lots of sun, swimming, beaches, late nights, and ice cream.  A story about learning that we are a team and a family. A story about sleepovers, about tickle fights, about learning to jump off the diving board.  It was a story about prioritizing what really matters, a story about saying yes to the right things, and a story about 5 people piled in a bed watching early morning cartoons.  On a random Tuesday.

Our summer was perfect for us. Our story was precious and only ours. Our kids are confident and ready to launch into the new school year, and I am so thankful for that.  God has, once again, delivered another blessing to us.  Erika had the best Back-to-School idea about coming up with a family motto for the school year.  I tried to enlist the kids help in coming up with the perfect motto.  Jackson was a big help, but it turns out that a 6 and 4 year old aren’t really able to grasp the idea of a motto as well.  haha!  Oh, to be a fly on the wall of that conversation–trust me!  Anyway, we are simplifying it to make it more understandable for our little ones–so, our Back-to-School motto this year is, “This is going to be a GREAT year!”

Jackson, Daddy, and I expanded on it a bit.  We loved this

Dear Back to School, this is going to be the start of the something good.  I just know it!  Peace out, Summer!  Save a seat by the pool for me next year, friend.  XOXO N

I can’t wait to read about all of your Friday favorites.  Link up and tell us all about it!

  1. Oh, I wish summer wasn’t over! It doesn’t feel like it – the weather hasn’t turned. We’re still getting our daily afternoon showers. But you’re right. When kids go back to school, its time to put away our swimsuits, and grab a scarf. Because fall is calling our names!
