Weekend Wrap-up, a Book Review, and a Giveaway

Hey, y’all!!  What a great weekend!

We spent all day Saturday cleaning up things around here a bit!  We spruced up closets, reorganized toys a bit, fixed some technical issues I’d been having, and just did some general honest-to-goodness cleaning up!  I don’t know about y’all, but when everything is organized in our house it helps me keep our daily life running smoothly!

On Sunday, we went to church and took our only picture from the weekend. 😉  Jackson and Daddy left after church for some time in the woods and the rest of us got comfy, did homework, and planned for the week!

While I don’t have a ton of pictures to show you from the weekend, I do need to share the book I am reading right now!   Y’all!  You are going to need to go ahead and pick one up right now!

During my quiet time I usually work on my Bible Study and read from a Christian non-fiction book.  This practice has been such a blessing to me, and my day is just better when it starts with Jesus!

Fervent (you can find it here)  has been such a good read!  It is based on the idea behind the movie “War Room”, and it does an excellent job of unpacking what prayer looks like and how it can be sidelined in our lives.

And even though it’s a book regarding prayer, it has also challenged the way that I view my past, my friendships, my marriage, and my passion for God’s plan for my life.   I’ve underlined more passages than I should probably admit! 🙂

The author, Priscilla Shirer, mentioned praying for your children in regards to creating a prayer journal for them…and I was inspired to start a prayer journal for each of my babies.

I already have a prayer journal for my daily prayers, but the idea of passing on a collection of journals to them individually some day…a journal with all of my prayers for them as they grew up is just so special to me.

We don’t have a lot of extended family who are believers so it such a privilege to start a legacy of prayer in our family.  🙂

And, to make it even better…I’m giving away a copy of this book!  So just comment in the comment section of this post, and I will randomly pick a winner at 9 pm CST today!   I know someone will be so blessed by this book, and I can’t wait to send a copy  out!

Happy Monday, y’all! XOXO Narci
