Show and Tell Tuesday: Our Mixed Tape

Hey, y’all!  Today, we are linking up with Andrea for her super fun Show and Tell Tuesdays!

Today’s topic is all about the mixed tape or soundtrack of our lives. I divided up my life into different timeframes and categories to make it a little easier. šŸ™‚

I didn’t really have an overall theme running through this time in my life, so it was hard to be super introspective here. šŸ˜‰

“Hangin Tough” New Kids on the Block

However, I had a mad crush on these guys during my childhood!!   (I may/may not still know the dance to Hangin’ Tough.)

During my time in college, I had so much fun!   Y’all…I took advantage of college life, so this seemed appropriate! šŸ˜‰

“Girls Just wanna have fun” Cyndi Lauper

When we were married, this was “our song”.  Oh my goodness!  That was so long ago!

“At Last” Etta James

I read through the lyrics when I was writing this, and some of them make me giggle….”my heart was wrapped up in clover until the night I looked at you.”  haha.   Y’all.  Today, I would seriously DIE before I picked a song that spoke in metaphors about clover.  However, it is so sweet and vintage and super fun to think about those starry-eyed younger days!

I have so many favorite songs that speak into my faith, but this is one of my favorites.

“Come as you are” David Crowder

Isn’t it the truth?  Regardless of how broken, messed up, or hurting we are….He wants us to come to Him just as we are.  I am so thankful for this!

And, finally, being a mama.

“These are the days” Natalie Merchant

These are the days.  The every day normal days that I want to enjoy and remember….I hope to accept each new day and each stage of life as exactly where He has placed me to be…and make the best of it.  Being a mom is a gift, and I hope to never take it for granted!

What a fun linkup!!  Thank you, Andrea!!  Happy Tuesday, y’all!!  XOXO Narci

  1. Great songs Narci! I especially like your statement about how Jesus wants us to come as we are, any time of the day or night, in any condition. I could not get back to sleep at 3am this morning and all sorts of things/worries started popping into my mind. I prayed to the Lord to take my worries, but I started my prayer with “sorry to bother you at 3am Lord…” Even though I knew He was already waiting for me to come to Him. How awesome He is, how silly of me…

I love to hear from you! Leave a comment here! :) XO Narci
