Hey. y’all! Today, we are bringing back one of my favorite features! Carpool Book Club!
From here on out, it’s going to look a little different than before!
Each month, I will share the books that are on my nightstand! These are the books that I read as a busy mama of 3! I read during carpool, at soccer or cheer practice, or in my extra time after the kids go to bed. So, I am always looking for new book ideas! Here we go!
What’s on my Nightstand for May 🙂
This month, I finished up Me Before You!
April was a REALLY busy month at work and for our family, so this one was slow going for me! I did like it, but the ending was so sad! I teared up a few times while I read this one!
And, I just started this as part of my quiet time. 🙂 I will keep you posted on it!
After I finished up Me Before you, I picked up A Spool of Blue Thread. I really didn’t know what to expect with this one, but I am LOVING it!
We leave for the beach in 10 days (who’s counting? ;)), and I picked up these next two to read on the drive there and during our beach time.
Before I go to sleep was recommended to me by Amazon and was a total impulse purchase! I heard it is a good read that keeps you guessing until the end!
Also, I really like Liane Moriarty, so I am excited to read this one as well!
Also, if you need a Young Adult recommendation….Jackson is in the middle of the 5th wave series, and he loves it!
I am not really into SciFi, but these are on my list to read also! I always like to read Jackson’s favorite books so we can talk about them after we are done! 🙂
Reading is one of my favorite ways to spend my free time, so I can’t wait to share my nightstand with you each month!
Happy Monday, y’all!! XOXO Narci

I’m reading Looking for Lovely right now too! Cant wait to hear what you think about Before I Go to Sleep. Sometimes Amazon knocks it out of the park on those recommendations.

I’m anxious to see what you thought about Me Before You. I started it this weekend and have about 50 pages left. I am pretty devastated at the thought of the ending. And it definitely makes you reconsider what one would do in that one situation and how it’s unfair of others to make those decisions. I mean, I know what I would do, but it’s a heavy read at times.

Are there any books/series that Jackson loved when he was a little younger? My son is ten and I’m sure there are great books out there, I am just having a hard time finding some that aren’t too “mature” for him.

Hey girl!! I think he really like Percy Jackson at that age? Ages 9-12 were harder for us…Jackson went through a stage where he just didn’t want to read a ton. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that there aren’t very many appropriate but interesting books out there for boys that age. 🙂 the good news is that he came back around recently and has been reading a ton plus he’s older so he’s better able to handle more mature subjects. 🙂

I love to read! I stay busy with 3 boys but I tried to find time to read each day. It’s usually in the car line! I’m almost finished with Me Before You. I’m not sure it’s one of my favorites yet. I just picked up Big Little Lies today! I can’t wait to read it! Thanks!!

Hi Narci, my first grader is so into Junie B. Jones books. They are so fun and sassy, but always have a sweet message. They are a little advanced for him but we read together and he’s loving them.
