Spring Break Trip, Part One: Disney Cruise!!

Hey, y’all!!  Today, I am recapping our super fun Spring Break trip!  We did what is called a “Land & Sea” vacation, and we had the very best vacation ever!  Our only complaint is that we wish it had lasted longer! 🙂

We used the amazing and knowledgeable girls over at Mix & Match Travel to plan all the details, and we couldn’t have been happier with how it went!

If you are planning your 2017 vacation (or even 2018!), email them because they would love to help!  mixandmatchtravelagency@yahoo.com.

On Thursday, we flew down to Orlando, and I just wanted to take a minute to thank my precious hubby.  Thursday was Manda’s funeral and our flights conflicted with the service…Robert really wanted to go to the service, but changing the flights for all of us at the last minute was just an astronomical price.  So, he offered to change my flight and flew with all 3 kids plus our luggage so I could attend.  He is such a gem and just gets things done in our family, and I am so thankful for him.  So, Robert and the kids flew down on Thursday around mid-day, and I flew down on Thursday after the service.

On Friday morning, we boarded the ship!  Thanks to our super awesome travel agents, we had our registration, travel documents and transportation to Port Canaveral taken care of way ahead of time…so that morning was just a breeze, and we basically just walked on the ship!

These three were ready! 🙂

We checked out our room, and walked around and explored the ship!  It really is gorgeous inside!

And, then we headed to the main lobby for the Sailing Away party!   They threw Mickey shaped confetti, and there was lots of DANCING!

After that, we got ready for dinner.  Somehow, I didn’t take pictures of our room…Not even once!  I was worried about it being too cramped, but it was actually perfect for our crew!  We did the Deluxe Family Room with a Veranda, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the amenities, the housekeeping staff, or the sleeping arrangements!

Before Dinner, we met with our favorite Disney character: Minnie Mouse!

The photographer asked if I wanted to be in the picture.  I’m glad I hopped in!

Luke chilled in one of the port holes while he waited for us to finish up with Minnie.

And, then we headed off to eat at Enchanted Garden!  We ate at a different restaurant each night, and the food was delish.

Jackson is the resident foodie in our house, and he was pretty much in Heaven the whole time.  Alot of you asked if he enjoyed it, and I think the food MADE the experience for him. haha!  In fact, every time I’d turn around, he would either be 1. At the all-day buffet or  2. In the Teen Area. 😉 We all loved the food each night!

After dinner, we went to see the show for the night, and it was the Golden Mickeys!

They don’t allow for photos during the show, but isn’t the auditorium gorgeous?!

Overnight, the ship sailed to Nassau, Bahamas!  So, the next morning, we had a quick breakfast at the Breakfast Buffet, and went to the ship pool!  It was a little windy and chilly on this day, but the AquaDuck slide did not disappoint!!

And, later that morning, we went on our first Port Adventure to the Atlantis in Nassau!  This port and hotel was amazing!

We put our phones in the lockers for the day, but we rode their super fun slides, checked out the lazy river, played in the pools, and spent two hours on the beach making sand castles and such.  Again, we drew an unlucky straw on the cooler weather this day, but Atlantis did not disappoint!   Our kids favorite slide was one that goes through the middle of the shark tanks! SO fun!

After we got back on the ship, we got all dressed up for the next bit of fun! Pirate night!  Wahoo!

Before dinner, we made a little visit to the Bibbidi Bobbidi boutique for a fun Pirate girl makeover.  In retrospect, I wish I had done this for Luke too….He told me that he didn’t want to, but he was a little disappointed after he saw how fun it was.  So, boy mamas…this is totally for your boys also!

Presley took a pirate oath and was all set for some Pirate adventures.

The Pirate party before dinner was amazing!

We watched an interactive show with Mickey and his friends!  Afterwards, we went to dinner at the Royal Palace!

The parents 🙂

and then saw the show for that night: Villains!

There were activities all night long, but we were pretty much TAHRED after the show each night, so we went to bed!  So, if you are a night owl, you will love all of the fun family and/or adult activities they have going on!  The next morning, we woke up to this….

That is the view of the next port, Castaway Cay, from our Vernada.  Goodness, the weather was pretty much perfect for that day! We were anxious to get on the island, but first we had a very special meeting to go to! 🙂

Presley’s love for Elsa runs deep and strong…we even did an Elsa photo shoot a few years ago to remember it by! 🙂

She loved meeting these two princesses while we were cruising!

For all my princess afficionados, most of the major princesses were available for meet and greets on the cruise ship.  We knew we were heading to Disney World after, so we skipped the rest for that reason only.  However, there were a TON of chances to meet them all on board!

And, finally, our 5 on the beach!   We are just a beach family, so everyone was in their happy place here!

We had lunch at the awesome Barbeque on the island, and it was so delicious!

Jackson spent most of his time at the Buffet, playing Basketball, and on this cool water obstacle course in the ocean!

And, yes we did the Cupid Shuffle with Minnie Mouse!  Minnie can dance by the way!!

At the end of the day, we were sandy and needed a good shower, but our hearts were so full!

Walking back to the cruise ship!

That night, we ate at the Animator’s palate.  This restaurant was everyone’s favorite!

The characters on the screens interacted with the guests while they ate dinner!  Crush the turtle talked with us, and we laughed so hard!

This is when we realized that Rob does a killer impression of Crush the Turtle.  As in, Disney should be calling us for the next Nemo movie.  Rob won’t let me video him doing it (party pooper!), so leave a comment if you want to hear Rob do Crush!   I am a firm believer in peer pressure. haha!

A better shot of Animator’s Palate

That night, we saw our last show: Believe!  Somehow, we managed to get front row seats each night, and it was so fun to be up close and personal!

After the show, we took a picture with Mickey in his captain’s outfit, and it really was the perfect ending to our Cruise.

Tomorrow, I’ll be back with the rest of our vacation, and our trip to Disney World!   Hope you have the very best Wednesday, y’all! XOXO Narci
