Hey, friends! Last week, I posted a little snippet on Instagram about being a mama to teenagers, and I was blown away by the responses that I received from so many other mamas via comments, DM, and email! As I was sitting there that night reading those messages, I was trying to figure out how to be useful to those mamas…..and it’s hard…because when kids are small, a handful of parenting techniques can work really well across the board. However, teenagers are a little bit different! Then, I remembered a book that I read several years ago about marriages and how it was so beneficial to me, so I hopped on Amazon and bought the Teenage version! 🙂
Once I received it, I was completely engrossed! If you’ve read any of Dr. Leman’s books, you know that they are more about changing your behavior patterns than that of your loved ones(which makes the titles super ironic!)…and are so useful at providing real solutions that can change the very fabric of your relationships. 🙂
Also, while I was reading through this book, I kept on wishing I had read this book years ago even before we had a teenager in the house. 🙂 There are a lot of behaviors that you could establish beforehand that would make the transition to the teenage years much easier for everyone. Now, if you are a preschool or new mama, I want you to pretend that you never heard me say that…you have enough to worry about with trying to make sure they sleep through the night, potty train, and more….you can come back here when those babies are older and read this then. 😉
But, if you have older grade school kiddos and you are interested in this topic, I’d definitely recommend you reading this book in advance if you’d like to know what to expect when the teenage years do hit. 🙂
And, if you are a teen mama, this will completely change the way you view and handle the teen years. I can tell it’s going to be a huge blessing to our family! 🙂 So, if you are needing a little encouragement and guidance today, then grab this book! You won’t be disappointed at all!
Happy Wednesday, y’all! See you back here tomorrow! XOXO N
