Carpool Book Club

Hey, y’all!! It’s the last Thursday of the month which means it is time for Carpool Book Club!

Each month, I share about my favorite books that I’ve read that month!   These are the books that sit on my nightstand and that I read as a busy mama of 3 kids who are always on the go!

This month, I have a few great recommendations for you!

Small Great Things

This book was the first one that I read this month, and I loved it! It’s a book about social issues, and I don’t read a ton of books like this…However, I found it to be super balanced and honest.  If you’ve watched my testimony, you know that I have a little bit of understanding about discrimination….and I found the descriptions of how the characters felt to be so true and not overly sensational or sterotypical.  Anyway, this book is good, and I totally recommend it if you are into this sort of thing. 🙂

The Matchmaker

This book was my next read this month, and I was super excited because I am a big Elin Hilderbrand fan!  Unfortunately, I didn’t love this one.  I mean, I nearly quit reading this after the first 50 pages because I found it to be super slow!   I pushed through, and it was just okay!  So, this one was a little disappointing, but my next one was awesome!

How to Have a New Teenager by Friday

So, I talked about this book last week, and I am a big fan!!  If you have teenagers or want to know more about what to expect during that stage of life….then this is the book for you!  I can’t say enough good things about this one!  It will completely change that way you look at parenting a teenager. 🙂

What’s Coming Up

I’ve already ordered my books for next month, and I am so excited to read these four books!   If you want to read along you can find them here!

The Moment Maker

UnStuffed

The Hypnotist’s Love Story

I Let You Go

And, if you are linking up for Carpool Book Club, don’t forget to link up below or post your recommendations in the comments!! Happy Thursday, y’all!! See you tomorrow for Friday Favorites! XOXO Narci

  4. I hate to hear that you didn’t like The Matchmaker — it was one of my favorite of hers. I hope you like the Hypnotists Love Story — it was NOT my favorite of Liane Moriarty’s books but since I like her as an author it wasn’t awful and I would certainly tell anyone to read it. I just got my copy of Unstuffed yesterday and dug right in! Yea! Glad so many in your group have recommended and talked about it so much. I just finished Along the Infinite Sea by Beatriz Williams – I liked it enough to want to try another of her books in the future. It was set in two time periods — 1930’s Europe and 1960’s Florida. I have “I Let You Go” on hold at the library 🙂

    • Thank you for the recommendations, Jenni! I’m glad you loved matchmaker….maybe I was just off when I was reading it and that was why I didn’t enjoy it! 🙂 I will definitely check that out. Xo

  5. I loved The Hypnotists love story. Such a great read. You should read Nantucket nights by Elin Hilderbrand it’s such a quick and easy read and definitely keeps you guessing.

  6. I’m currently listening to A New Teenager by Friday and you are so right. Yes, I absolutely agree, every parent should read/listen to this book. I wish I had started in the pre-teen years and this was simply a re-read 🙂 Hindsight, I tell ya! Our teens may not agree with some aspects; ultimately, they get exactly what they need/want. Thanks for hosting Car Pool Book Club.
