Hey, y’all!! Happy Wednesday!
What we’re eating this week….
We are making our way through Shay’s awesome new cookbook, and it has made my dinner planning so easy! I love all of the slow-cooker recipes! Following her recipes has made supper time so easy at our house!
What I’m reminiscing about…
This popped up in my memories from Facebook, and oh my stars…Could it be any sweeter? 🙂 This was Presley’s 2nd birthday.
Oh gosh, it’s hard to believe she’s 8 years old now!
I am, also, over here reminiscing about a fun surprise that we had for the kids last Christmas!
Normally, the kids tag along and visit with Santa at the beginning of my Santa sessions, but we had a few conflicts with the time…So Santa insisted on making a special trip to our house instead.
This totally led me down the rabbit hole to this sweet Santa moment with our dear Manda last Christmas. Her expression on this photo slays me every single time. Oh, how I miss her!
What I’m loving…
We received a little sneak peek of our family photos last week, and I am loving it!
Being in front of the camera isn’t easy for me (I’m much better at being behind it! haha!), but it was such a treasure to let Jeanine work her magic on my own little family. My heart could just explode. Now, I can’t wait to see the rest!
What I’m wearing…
Since it’s getting dark so early, I am over here in Pajama mode! I love this festive pair!
And, my favorite Ansley Ugg slippers!
What I’m dreading…
nothing at the moment. 🙂
What I’m excited about…
This weekend, we hosted a group of 6th grade girls and can I just share that it was such a sweet experience?
The girls stayed with us Friday and Saturday night, completed several Bible Study lessons, and competed in a few fun challenges along the way. This weekend is all about building up our teens, and I am a big fan! This is my friend Lori (she cooked for the girls all weekend and was amazing!)
Presley was in heaven the whole time!
They competed in a canned food drive (in which they totally held their own…even though they were one of the youngest groups) and a competition called “Bigger and Better”. During this competition, they were given a pencil, and they had to trade it for something “bigger or better” by asking parents, family friends, or going door to door. Through a succession of trades, they ended up with a bike and then Presley decided to donate her old pink convertible to the cause. (All these items will be donated to charity). She made a big entrance in front of all the teens by driving up in that little convertible in front of all the big kids.
The highest value item won, but we definitely got extra points for her big entrance. haha. 🙂
What we’ve been up to…
Oh, you know…just a little bit of this and that.
naps while we can manage it, because #busyseason
and some sweet moments tucked in between all of the chaos.
What I am working on….
I am making my way through my Fall calendar, and it is going great!
Also, I am so excited to share that we opened up a few spots in December in addition to our Santa sessions…so Hop on over to my Photography page if you’d like more info on all of that!
What I’m watching or reading…
I ordered an Advent Study for our family and myself from Sacred Holidays! I think it’s going to be good! You can find it here!
And, I am still loving my Jesus Always devotional. 🙂
What I am doing this weekend…
We are heading to Downtown McKinney for the Christmas tree lighting
And, it’s Jackson’s turn to play the violin in the annual Deck the Halls performance at church! SO fun!
What I am looking forward to next month!
All the Christmas Activities 🙂 I can’t wait!
Bonus Question: What’s Your Favorite Thing to do with the Elf? 🙂
In the past few years, I’ve passed on my Elf duties to our teenager Jackson….because I can only do so many things at once, and he is way more creative than I am. haha!
I am a big fan of delegation! I can’t wait to see what he comes up with this year!
Happy Wednesday, friends!! Thank you so much for the fun link up, girls! XOXO Narci
