Each month, we share all about how we handle different areas of our life. I am excited to dive into these different topics!
Truth be told: I am a busy girl….I manage three precious kiddos, their commitments, a photography business, this blog, a fun Stella and Dot gig, and much more. I can’t wait to share what’s worked for our little family and read about your awesome tips, too. My best ideas always come from my friends, so I am excited to hear what you have to say as well!
Today, I am sharing about how I take care of myself! Let’s get started!
ONE: Quiet Time
If I had to share just one tip for how I take care of myself, then this would be it! Each morning, I spend time in His Word and doing some kind of devotional reading. This just starts my day off on the right foot and gets my mind right before I go about my day. 🙂
TWO: Stay Active
So, I do go to the gym twice a week, but my schedule doesn’t really allow for much more than that. I try to schedule an at home workout at least once a week, but mostly…our lifestyle is pretty busy which keeps us active. 🙂 I figure there will be a day when our pace slows down, and I will add in a few more workouts. Until then, I’m almost always cleaning, chauffeuring someone to a game or practice, or enjoying something fun outside with our kiddos. 🙂
THREE: Eating Right
I tend to eat a lot of salads, protein, avocados, and such. I have found that my body just feels better when I fuel it with the right foods! Also, I am big believer in everything in moderation…so I am not afraid to knock out some queso, tacos, a good burger, or make a great pasta dish. Balance is key, right? 🙂
FOUR: Know your Love Language
Have you heard about love languages? Basically, it is a theory that we all measure and receive LOVE differently. It is is so fascinating! You should totally read up on this topic if you haven’t yet! Anyhow, my love language is “quality time”. So, making sure that I schedule in enough quality time with my people is a way that I take care of myself as well! If you’d like to figure out your love language, you can here. This has been so useful for our family. 🙂
Giving yourself the grace to mess up, not measure up ALL the time, and sometimes fail is such an important part of self-care. 🙂 Also, in this category: knowing your limits and respecting them. No one is the best at everything, and giving yourself grace in these areas is a total game changer!
I can’t wait to read about how everyone else takes care of themselves. Thanks for the great linkup, girls. Happy Wednesday, friends! XOXO Narci
