How we Wednesday

Hey, y’all!!  Today, I am linking up with Shay and Erika for their fun monthly link-up “How We” Wednesdays!

How We

Each month, we share all about how we handle different areas of our life.  I am excited to dive into these different topics!

How We schedule

Truth be told: I am a busy girl….I manage three precious kiddos, their commitments, a photography business, this blog, a fun Stella and Dot gig, and much more.   I can’t wait to share what’s worked for our little family and read about your awesome tips, too.   My best ideas always come from my friends, so I am excited to hear what you have to say as well!

Today, we are talking about we Spring Clean and Organize!   This winter I read this book, and it was so helpful in helping me declutter our home and our life!

You should know that I’m not the kind of girl who stresses over our closets and drawers being in perfect order…I can’t imagine being able to do that with 3 kids and a job,  but I do like to keep things pretty orderly on the regular.  This book was so great at giving me a n awesome outline of how and when to declutter and organize our home, our schedule, and even our minds!

I went through each room in the house and cleared out a bunch of excess stuff that we just didn’t need or use, and it felt awesome!   I totally recommend this book if you need a good guide to get you started!

Other Tips

Do you have a family command center?  When we built our house, I had visions of a little nook area for backpacks, schedules, and such.

This hallway leads to the garage. So, it’s the perfect spot!

Voila: where the backpacks hang. 🙂 img_6933

The drawer below the bench holds gloves, winter hats, and such. 🙂

And, our family calendar/chalkboard!   Our kids ask approximately 90 million questions each day and most of them can be answered here.   img_6931

Our schedule, what’s for dinner, what day is it: just check the calendar and chalkboard. 🙂

And, technically, new pens will not make you more organized, but look at how fun these pens are!   These are BEST for your day to day use.  🙂

Aren’t we all more likely to write thank you notes and keep our to-do lists when using a neon pink pen?  ;). I can feel myself being more organized by just looking at all those fun colors.  haha!

And, of course, I couldn’t do life without my Erin Condren  plannerDSC_7071

There’s lots of room to add all of your important meetings, appointments, and such.

And, a cute spot on the weekly view to write what you are thankful for that week!  So fun!DSC_7082

There are these colorful stickers that you can use to personalize your calendar

and areas at the back of each month and the back of the planner for your notes!

Plus, there is a pocket to add important documents!DSC_7099

So cute!!  You can hop on over and check out her products here and see for yourself!!

Want more organization tips?   I’ve also blogged about how we organize our school schedule and how we do our after school routine!!

I love hearing tips on how people organize and spring clean!   If you have a great tip, leave it in the comments!   Happy Wednesday, y’all! XOXO N
