Hey, y’all! Welcome to the Blend! This link up is just a blended up mix of fun topics for us to chat about! I don’t know about you, but I love to chat with my girls about this kind of stuff. I can’t wait to dive into some of THIS fun! 🙂 Today, the topic is “Most Embarassing Moment” which is pretty much my specialty. How do I manage to have so many of these moments?! I was trying to narrow it down to one story to tell, and I had a full out bullet list of possibilities. 😉
In the end, I decided to share one of my favorite embarassing moments…a little episode that happened about 4 years ago at the youth baseball diamonds.
I think I’ve mentioned before that our group is busy. We often divide and conquer sports practices when there are conflicts (and there always are). And, so it was, on one fateful night, that when I wrapped up at soccer practice for Luke… I, then, loaded Luke and Presley up into my car and headed to meet Rob at Jackson’s baseball game that was already in progress.
Now, when Jackson started baseball 10 years ago, the games were so cute and sweet! They would play in the dirt, get distracted by the big trucks that drove by, and were most excited about the snacks after the game! However, at this point, the boys were taking the game much more seriously and things can get heated on the baseball diamond! That night, the tension could be cut with a knife…the game was tight, the boys were frustrated, and the coaches from each team were going back and forth with each other.
Eventually the game ended, and we packed things up and headed to the car. It was late and dark, and everyone was ready to get in bed! Since we drove separately to the game, Robert and Jackson headed to his car, and I loaded up the younger two back into mine.
As we were driving through the dark parking lot, I saw Rob walking to his car. In a moment of what I though was hysterical brilliance, I decided to roll down my window and surprise him by saying something really funny! Wasn’t that such a good idea?? So, I slowed my SUV to a roll, rolled down my window, and said “Hey, Baby” in my best funny/overly dramatic bedroom voice.
It was sometime around the second syllable of the word Baby that I realized that it wasn’t actually Robert…it was the coach…of the other team.
Now, the responsible thing would have been to explain the big mix-up, but… Oh my gosh!!! I was so embarrassed that I couldn’t even speak!! So, I, promptly, picked my jaw up off the floorboard, rolled up my window, and went on my merry way. haha. That’s right, I ran as fast as I could y’all! Can you even imagine?
Aren’t embarrassing stories so fun? I can’t wait to read all of yours! If you are a blogger, I would love for you to link up with us. You can link up below! Happy Tuesday! XOXO Narci
