Hey, y’all!  Happy Thursday!  Today, it’s time for my very favorite post….It’s time for Carpool Book Club!

Each month, I share about the books that I’ve read.   These are the books that sit on my nightstand and that I read as a busy mama of 3 kids who are always on the go.  Before I started reading, I had a lot of empty space during the in between time.  You know, the time when I am waiting for an appointment, by the pool, or sitting with the kids outside….picking up a good book is my favorite way to pass that extra time now .  🙂  I have a great list this month, so sit back and enjoy. You are going to love it all!

The Line-Up

My Oxford Year

Here’s the thing…I think books are kind of like people…some of them are just easy to love, and this book is JUST THAT. The plot line is so moving and the characters are really likable.  It reminds me of Jojo Moyes’ books, but even better.  🙂   If you haven’t read this one, go ahead an pick it up.  You will love it and feel all the emotions with this book.

Castle of Water

So, this is a book about two people who are lost at sea and trapped on a deserted island.  I am going to say that this not my normal book choice, but oh my stars did I enjoy reading this book!   When one of the main characters is weaving a hut out of materials  from the island, I was in total admiration.  Also, hearing about how their relationship evolved on the island was just so sweet and tender.  It gave me all the feels, too!  This was another great book!

Island Girls

Oh gosh, This book was really cute and a sweet story about three sisters and their time in Nantucket.  If you need a light, beach read, then this is your book. :). It’s just a happy book, and I totally recommend it as a feel good reading selection.

The Sound of Gravel

The Sound of Gravel was a total departure from my other reading this month, but it was so rich and deep…and sad.  This is a memoir about growing up in a polygamist family, and it just broke my heart to read this one!  It’s not very often that I truly can’t put a book down, but I really couldn’t put this one down.  Should you read it?  Yes, but be prepared to have your heart tug a bit.  The author’s childhood was just so hard.

The Secret to Southern Charm 

This book is the 2nd book in the Peachtree Bluff series, and I have loved following this set of three sisters so much.  The first book left us hanging on quite a few of the plot lines, but this book answered a bunch of that which was nice.  It’s a cute series if you are needing something lighthearted! 🙂

Dance Stand Run

Oh friends, I have totally put off writing this review, because I really didn’t know what to say about this book.  haha!  A bunch of you have asked my thoughts on this book, so here we go! This book was recommended to me by Amazon, and I have completely mixed feelings about it.  On one hand, I felt incredibly convicted by quite a few things in this book, because the author does an amazing job of forcing you to contemplate the sin in your life.  So, this book was amazing in that respect, but I just felt like she needed to follow up with more about Grace in each chapter.  I just feel like the world is full of broken people, but you should always include the answer to that brokeness (Him and His redemption) when you want to dig deeper into Sin.  So, read it if you want to  be convicted, but definitely guard your heart with the overwhelming goodness that His Grace covers it all. 🙂 And, if you are on the fence, maybe skip this one. 🙂

The Dry

And finally, I also read the Dry, and I did enjoy it!  It was suspenseful, a page turner, and set in Australia which is a fun change of pace.
