Hey, hey!! Happy Wednesday! Today, I am sharing more of our trip to Washington D.C! We packed a lot into each day, so let’s get started. 🙂
On Day 2, we had a mission….Our Senator has a meet and greet every Tuesday morning in Washington D.C. and this was on Jackson’s dream list of things to do. He has a shirt from this Senator’s latest campaign and a funny story behind it…so he wanted to have it signed. 🙂
And Senator Cruz was so nice and totally loved the back story! He was happy to sign it!
All of his staff was very friendly, and we throughly enjoyed this experience!
After this, we hit up the Smithsonian History Museums.
and both museums were quite impressive. 🙂
I am going to be honest: History is not my jam (which is a little embarrassing to admit), but I was a big fan of the First Lady exhibit! This dress was worn by Nancy Reagan, and I’d wear it to a ball today!
After the museums, we decided to make the trek over to Georgetown and it did NOT disappoint!
We visited Georgetown cupcake, and both our cupcakes were delicious!
and then we walked over to Georgetown University.
I mean, it really is a beautiful campus with incredible architecture.
I happen to adore my hometown of McKinney, TX….yet, you could easily talk me into moving to Georgetown.
So, this store is actually a liquor store, but we needed this picture in honor of our very own Dixie Dreffs. haha!
After Georgetown, we jetted over to Arlington Cemetery before it closed. 🙂
We headed straight for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (and by straight, I mean that we got lost three different times trying to find it. haha), and it was truly such a moving experience.
I am so glad that Jackson got to see Arlington Cemetery, because it’s easy to read about it….but it’s something else entirely to see all of those graves
And, afterwards, we went to The Hamilton for dinner. And, friends…it was delicious!
I want to introduce you to the best burger and truffle fries that I’ve ever had. The Hamilton did NOT disappoint at all!
I could make a return visit to D.C. just for this meal. It was fantastic. After dinner, we went over to the Jefferson Memorial to see it at night and it was spectacular.
Funny story: Jackson left his phone in an uber during this day, so after all our fun…we made a little side trip to Silver Springs, Maryland that evening to retrieve it. So add Silver Springs to our list of Cities that we visited during this trip! haha. #memories
Tomorrow, I recapping the rest of our trip, talking about where we stayed, and finishing up our Spring Break! See you back here tomorrow! XOXO Narci
