Hey, y’all! Happy Thursday! Today, it’s time for my very favorite post….It’s time for Carpool Book Club!
Each month, I share about the books that I’ve read. These are the books that sit on my nightstand and that I read as a busy mama of 3 kids. Before I started reading, I had a lot of empty space during the in between time. You know, the time when I am waiting for an appointment, by the pool, or sitting at a sports practice….picking up a good book is my favorite way to pass that extra time now. 🙂 This month I read two books and listened to one books (as a working mama, I find it harder to carve out time to read, but I am working hard to create this time as it’s something that I absolutely love to do!
Okay, I have so many thoughts on this one. I want to tell you that this one started so slowly for me. Since I don’t have a lot of free time, this one was hard for me because I found myself putting off finishing it because it was a little boring on the front end. In fact, when I was about halfway finished I told Rob about how boring it was. And literally that night the main character did something that instantly sucked me into the plot. At that point, I thought I had the plot figured out, but then it twisted again and I was so confused. haha! After that, I had to finish it just to see how it ended, and it did not disappoint. There are alot of courtroom/investigation details in this one which is not my things, but if you are into that then you will love this one. It was good but not my favorite thriller.
The American Royals
This one gave me all the warm and fuzzies. Let’s see: a story about the royal family in America. Ah, yes please. It’s as if the book was written just for me and my little royal family obsession. 😉 The characters were so well written, and I found myself cheering for them all. I love a good Jane Austen-esque novel, and this one reminded me so much of her work. I heard there is a sequel coming out in the Fall, and I can’t wait to read it 🙂
Okay, so I listened to this one, and I just adored it. I have a goal of listening to one book that is more professional development minded each month, so this one fit the bill perfectly for me. If you work in sales or in a high-level position with your organization, I would totally suggest this book. It’s very eye-opening and super short which makes it an easy read for sure.
What’s up next? Well, I have these two books in my queue and I am dying to get to them!
I downloaded this one to listen to. I love listening to a memoir!
and I began this book this week. Let me tell you, Beth Moore did it again, friends. I can’t wait to finish it soon. If you’ve been thinking about it, I’d say GO FOR IT.
Happy Thursday, y’all! Tomorrow is Friday Favorites, and I can’t wait to share something big with you tomorrow. Yay! See you then. 🙂 XOXO N
