Friday Favorites

Hey, y’all, and Happy Friday! Today, we are hosting Friday Favorites with my girls, Erika and Andrea, and I’d love for you to join us.

Oh, wow.  This week has been crazy, and this weekend promises to be even crazier.   In the next two days, we have a trip to the Math Olympics, a gala, one women’s conference, at least SIX games (hello, tourney season!), 2 shifts of work for my favorite teenager, and whatever I am forgetting. (Because I am sure I am forgetting SOMETHING)  I don’t think I fully realized how crazy things can get when everyone gets to a certain age in your crew. Talk about bananas.

I debated how I wanted to honor Manda on here and this week, and I think I landed on this.  First, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that if you would like to contribute towards the Gala that we are having this evening, you can here.  I know that quite a few of you felt a connection to her even if it was over the internet ( I get this, because I feel the same about YOU GUYS!), so I always want to give you an opportunity to show your support if you feel lead to do so.  Thank you for that. XO

Also, since Manda worked so hard to keep God on the throne..above cancer, above fear and seeing how much that has blessed so many people….I thought I would open up the comments so you can share how God was WITH YOU and  on the THRONE….ABOVE the hard parts of your own life…

I’ll go first: my God (that’s who He is) remains ON THE THRONE and is always working.  He leads me and our family during a season of uncertainty that has been peppered by job loss, family struggles, and, during the process, stretches us to be more like Him.  He draws out Faith in all of us that is stronger than before…He provides, and He shows us the beauty in the hard moments.  It’s my hope that someone sees what happens in our life, and it becomes a tangible example of our loving Father to them. The glory and victory belongs to Him.

Now, share your Hope below.  Happy Friday, y’all! XOXO Narci

  1. I hope you have a wonderful time at the gala and raise lots of money for Mandastrong. I have really enjoyed learning all about her on your various blogs this week. She sounds like quite the woman and she was so lucky to have you all as her friends, keeping her memory alive, and continuing her message.

  2. Narci,

I’m new to your blog today and i love how you say “Keep God in the throne above “all the things”!

Indeed in my life I’ve walked through so MANY of the same things you’re struggling with. Over the last year my family has only persevered because God is our solid foundation above fear, doubt, cancer, breathing tubes, comas, job loss, financial woes, relationship issues, abandonment. .. God is greater!

I pray your gala goes well! God knows the need.

  3. Awe! I love this! I love how God has worked through our family’s life and actually changed and molded it to something greater and more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. I love how He knows our hearts, truly knows us personally and deeply, and therefore knows exactly who we are and what we need in life (even when it doesn’t look like how we imagine it). I can’t wait to celebrate and honor Manda tonight at the gala! She would be so excited by all of this, but more than anything, she would be SO happy that we’re helping other mamas with cancer. We’ve worked so hard! I can’t wait to hug your neck and have so much fun as we watch our hard work unfold! xo

  4. Narci! I’m so glad you’re back! What a great way to honor Manda! My god is constant and is the same yesterday and today. For that I’m so thankful! From being a divorced kid to rebellious teenage days to newly married life to growing our family…from the peaks to the valleys He’s been there. ❤️

  5. I praise God because He completely changed my life six years ago. I was walking in darkness and infidelity, yet God continued to pursue me. I praise Him because He has restored my marriage and family. I am so thankful that my God meets us even in our most broken places and works all things out for good.

    • I am one of your silent blog readers (for many years) but just had to pipe in today in response to your prompt. I praise God that he has been with my marriage over the last 25 years. I met my husband at 16 years old and fell in love. We got married 6 years later. I always thought he would come around and find his faith. As a young woman, I didn’t realize how hard this journey would be as a solo believer. It has been so very hard to raise a family when my husband is not a believer. I praise God for walking through this with me and for guiding me as I have raised my kids (15 and 19) to love Jesus and trust Him. I still believe that one day my husband will be saved! It will happen in God’s time, not mine.

  6. He has saved my marriage. What almost was walking away and calling it quits has turned into feeling like we just started dating again—-8 years later! We are both totally different people just by giving it to him! To God be the glory!!

I love to hear from you! Leave a comment here! :) XO Narci
