What’s Been Going On

Happy Monday, friends.  Well, to put it simply, last week was so hard.  I really don’t know the right words to say other than to offer my grief over the amount of racism that happens in our country.  It’s because of this overwhelming sadness and grief that I will be working to be the change in my little part of the world.  I shared this on my IG stories

So, while I don’t understand the depth of pain that my black/POC brothers and sisters feel, my heart can understand some minuscule and small portion of it….and my heart aches for them because of it.  I am sharing this perspective with my family and friends and letting it breathe into the relationships around me….and am working to educate myself.  We all are learning, and I want to be part of the solution…not the problem.

Since I’ve been gone for some time, I have a lot to catch you up on.    I am going to share that with you today, but please know that my heart is so heavy while I do so.

This quote showed up in my Bible Study and it is still in my head.  Such good words.

Presley has been busy crafting some cute items for her new room.  This girl is the Pinterest queen and so into anything creative.  She made this cute canvas for less than $10  🙂

We celebrated this adorable boy’s 12th birthday this weekend.  It’s hard to believe that this is the same boy that I cried myself to sleep praying for all those years ago and during our long season of infertility.  But, here he is.

He’s growing into such a fine young man.  Can’t wait to see what this year brings for him.

These days have been cozy time plus a touch of packing…

And my bestie Hollye and I had a fun secret mission to love on one of our friends.

She is so much fun!

We saw this beautiful railroad track while we were out driving to the new house, and isn’t it so dreamy?

Rob and I had a date night on our future back porch and watched the sunset.  Oh, it was just what my heart needed.

We have 10 more days until we close, and we couldn’t be more excited.

I’ve gotten a few questions about the size of this house and it’s 2300 sq ft (our current house is 3800 so it’s a pretty significant downsize.) We are just so incredibly thankful to have found something that fits our whole crew and in our budget and style.  I still can’t really believe it.

These days are Daisy still being the most relaxed cat ever.

And snocones because summer weather has definitely arrived inTexas.

This week is all about this guy turning SEVENTEEN!  He’s becoming quite the professional behind the wheel.

I am so super proud of him!

Happy Monday, friends.  I missed you last week.  I will see you back here on Wednesday.  Much love, Narci

  1. I missed your too, Narci. You’ve are a gentle fun long distance “friend “. Love how you put God and family first, and fiercely, not material goods, etc. I’m of Asian descent so I know a tiny bit about being different and have been the recipient of a few snide remarks over the years. Most recently Asians are getting blamed/slammed for “causing” the corona virus… there have been hate crimes against Asians due to this. On a happier note, I’m excited for the closing on your new home!

  2. Yours is my favorite blog to read! I’m from Los Angeles and I started following a few McKinney bloggers years back and it’s a fun little escape from real life sometimes and I love the shopping tips!
But you stand out for always keepIng it real and your genuine kindness, love for God and love for others shines so brightly through your words. I respect all you stand for and I love that your so raw and genuine! It really matters! Keep doing you and I wish you all the best in your new home!

I love to hear from you! Leave a comment here! :) XO Narci
