Self Care

Hey, y’all!  Happy Friday from my house to yours! Today, I am sharing about my favorite self-care.  These are just things that help me fill my cup or refocus when I need a moment to breathe.  I feel like we all could use a little bit of that these days, am I right?  So, please by all means…grab your coffee, and here we go:

Every morning,  when I wake up and do my quiet time…there’s always some kind of Bible study included…whether it’s going through a structured study like this or reading through a certain book of the Bible.  Reading God’s word and applying it to my heart and world makes the biggest difference for my days.

So, since Corona started, I have been going for daily walks.  I think this is a pretty common things these days?  When I leave, I tell Rob that I am heading out for my daily therapy session.  haha!

Since we’ve moved out the country, they have been TRULY amazing.

There is literally no one around so I have been known to

1.  Worship to music –no one cares if I am off key! haha!

2.  Take my frustrations/anger/sadness to the Lord.  Sometimes out loud!

3.  Talk with friends!

4.  Pray

This is something that I haven’t done enough of during these days, but I am trying to get back into.  I love to read for fun, so if you have a book that I need to read please do share it with me!

Give me a sunrise or sunset any day. Want to remember how big our God is?  Stepping out into his creation and seeing His work is such a blessing!

Ah, I love this one!   Calling a friend just to chat about all the random stuff that’s going on is one of my favorite things to do.   There’s something about a close girlfriend that just makes my day so much better.

I always go out on my front porch to talk to my friends!  They always laugh because they can hear cows moo-ing! I guess that’s country life!

Things that I didn’t include, but I still enjoy?  Going to a gym, shopping at my favorite store, taking a bath, and tuning into my favorite old TV shows or movies.  What are some of your best self-care practices?  I would love to add some more to my list.

On Monday, I am doing a little house update. Can’t wait to see you then, friends! Have a great weekend! XOXO Narci

  1. Happy Friday, Narci and family! Sounds like country life is agreeing with you. Love that you can “walk/pray/praise your cares”… One tip while out and about – bring a photo ID with you (copy your driver’s license) with your new address and an emergency phone number. “Just in case” something should happen. I use my old expired license.

For a good book, try “Cottage by the Sea” by Debbie Macomber. It will touch you, make you cry good and sad tears… Debbie is a Christian writer – usually fiction and about women’s relationships.

  2. I just wanted to clarify, did you use Watermark Custom Builders out of Sherman/Denison area??

I love to hear from you! Leave a comment here! :) XO Narci
