Happy Monday, my friends! I am so incredibly happy to be back with you here today. If I am being honest, December kind of felt like the last month in a weird year where we were just trying to make the best of things. Some days were easier than others, but I am just so ready for a fresh year (even if we did start off weird, admittedly)
I spent a lot of time thinking about what my goals might be for this year. I am normally not a big dreamer, but God has been placing the idea of dreams that honor Him on my heart so I am excited to be obedient here.
So, here are my goals and such for 2021:
1: My word is “Love”
I know this one might feel a little cliche, but it’s really where my heart is for 2021. Here’s my life verse for this year.
“If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”
1 Corinthians 13:1-7 NLT
Yes and Amen.
Over the past year, we’ve walked hard things, on top of a move, on top of job loss, and on top of a pandemic. God has provided so much (right before all of our eyes..I am so glad you’ve been with us on this journey), so I look forward to loving on those around us as a reflection of that.
2. Morning Routine: It’s time to get that back under control!
At some point early in Covid-quarantine, I stopped waking up so early…I think it was partly because I didn’t have as much to do, but I know I could be getting much more accomplished during the day if I was starting it a bit earlier. And this extra time allows for some exercise which I have been pretty hit or miss on since March as well..
3. Enjoy where the Lord has me
That means podcasts in the carpool line because I love them, blasting praise music or my favorite show in the cleaning, leaning into hosting more, the kids’ sports, the quiet country sunsets. These days are such fun days, and I don’t want to miss a thing!
So tell me: What are your goals and did you have a word for this year? I can’t wait to hear all about it, y’all! XOXO Narci

While I don’t have a word of the year per se, I’m working on being thankful/grateful, and to ask for the Lord’s help.

My word this year is stretch. I’m stretching myself to try new things and opportunities. I’m also stretching myself to allow myself to rest. And I really need to actually stretch so I’m not so sore. Happy New Year!
