Happy, happy Thursday my friends! Lookie here–two posts in three days! It’s been super sweet to slide into this blog space this week and share what has been going on in our neck of the woods. It just felt like the right time to pick things back up, so I hope you are enjoying our time together too.
Last week, before all of the 4th of July fun, Luke signed a contract for another year with FC Dallas.
This year’s tryouts were more relaxed for him…he’s playing with the same coach (who we adore for Luke) and a fantastic group of boys and parents.
Luke has moved to defense and this has been SO fun to watch–it suits him so well. :). This weekend, we have tryouts for Presley and club volleyball, and my stars, the journey for these tryouts has been a little crazier. If you are part of the club volleyball world, then you know what I am talking about! haha!
Anyhow, these days have been quick trips to see Fireworks…I literally came back from a run on Saturday night, and we decided to hop in the car and watch the fireworks!
It was a gorgeous night, and we had an absolute blast! We parked, played a family game of football, and sat down to enjoy the show. Good times for sure! I also finished this book as well, and it kept me interested from beginning to end!
I’ve been using the kindle app on an old iPad, and I think that is my favorite digital method of reading books to date. I don’t love the e-readers, but the app has been the perfect addition to my reading repertoire!
And, finally, I just had to share this delicious Cookie Cake recipe from Garnish & Glaze in case you were looking for something fun for your summer celebrations!
I made mine in a 9×13 pan, was more liberal with my chocolate chips (life is too short to be anything but this, right?), and skipped the frosting. It was delicious, and you will definitely want to check it out!
Hope you have a great rest of your day! XO Narci
