What I’ve Been Working On

Hey, y’all!  Happy Wednesday.  Today, I am sharing a little bit of what I have been working on over here…I am so thankful that we have been able to do some socially distant sessions….I am super thankful for my zoom lens, these days, and the opportunity to capture some sweet milestones for my clients for memory’s sake.   If you are interested in booking a session, I will be back to work full-time beginning next week with social distancing measures in place.  🙂 You can always email me at narcidphotography@gmail.com for more information!

These days have been for darling senior girl sessions

especially when your sweet pup joins in the fun!

and one very special Bluebonnet session with one of my long-time clients.

I had the opportunity to see this precious boy who was one of my newborn clients last year.  It took all my will power to not kiss those cheeks!

I have had the pleasure of seeing some sweet senior boys as well!  I’ve known this one since he was 3!

This porch session was an absolute blast, and I am super impressed by this senior’s serious jumping skills!

Big things coming for my awesome senior clients in the Fall. So proud of them all and how resilient they are all being!  It’s been a great time behind the camera, and I am so very thankful for my amazing and supportive clients.  What a joy they are to me!

See you guys here on Friday!  Oh, my stars, so I have some CUTE stuff to share with you then!!

Love you all–XOXO Narci

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hey, hey y’all!  Happy Monday from my house to yours!  I hope you are doing well.  We had such a  great past few days. This weekend was all about house-related things.

It has been such a sweet process so far, and we are just so thankful about how things are moving along.  As long as all goes well, we will close on our current house in mid-June.   And, as far as our next steps….we are at the point where we are considering making our final decision…we’ve met with builders, found a property to build on that we love, and even found a few houses that are on the market (I never thought this would have been possible!  This totally caught me off guard over the weekend.)  We’ve prayed, we’ve gotten costs for everything so we are able to see all our options side by side…..Now we just make the final decision!  Once we have done that I will make sure to share that with you all for sure!

During this process, we have found some of the prettiest country roads….I will be set on photography locations for quite some time!  Isn’t this one just magical?

Also, I ordered a few summer things from Target….I love this cute embroidered top so much, and these denim shorts.  They look short here, but they are a great length…I ordered up a size so they aren’t skin tight and it is the perfect fit.  🙂

And, I love this pink top from Target as well.  It is such a pretty color and perfect for my time working at home as well!

And, finally, Mother’s Day was all about spending time with these faces.  Being at home with them made my day extra special.

Almost 17 years of being a mama, and it brings me such great joy.

See you back here on Wednesday, friends! XOXO Narci

Red, Hot, and Blue Potato Salad

Happy Friday!  How are you doing this week?  I am so thankful that you are here today!  Go ahead and grab your coffee while I share one of my very favorite summer sides!  I think you will love this one.

This potato salad is out of this world tasty and the perfect finish to all your fun, outdoor, grilling meals.  I mean, I’ve never met a potato salad that I didn’t like, but this one will have you thinking about it later! It’s that good. 🙂

It’s best-served room temperature (but great chilled also).  So, it’s perfect for potlucks, when you have company over, and as an easy side for chicken dinners, grilled steaks, and burgers.  My family was a huge fan!

  • 4 lbs Red Bliss potatoes
  • 4 large eggs
  • 12cup finely chopped green onion top
  • 1 14cups mayonnaise
  • 1 34teaspoons celery seeds
  • 1 34teaspoons salt
  1. Steam the potatoes skin-on for approximately 45 minutes (you can boil them, but they tend to be slightly mushier in the end result). Set aside until cool enough to handle. Boil your eggs, then do the same. When cool enough, peel the eggs ONLY (do NOT peel the potatoes — the skin gives it part of its unique texture and taste).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the remaining ingredients together until thoroughly mixed. Chop the potatoes and eggs into bite-size pieces and add to bowl. Mix GENTLY until blended.
  3. Serve at room temp for up to 2 hours after making — refrigerate leftovers. It tastes best when room temp, but it is delicious cold too — so if you are making this in advance, it’s fine to chill it.

Enjoy! Love you guys, Narci

House Update

Hey y’all!  Happy Wednesday!  Today,  I wanted to share a fun planning update for the new house.  This week, we meet with builders now that we’ve ironed out some of the financials (construction loans, pinpointing our exact budget) Also, we’ve made a list of what is important to us as a family (outdoor spaces, a nice kitchen) vs. what we don’t need (we don’t need a huge amount of land or super expensive finishes).  We’ve also firmed up our square footage (about 50-60% of what our current house is :)).  Now, comes the process of interviewing builders to see which one is the best fit. 🙂

When we meet with builders, I want to have a really solid idea of what we want… I am just a planner and creative at heart, so give me an empty canvas and my mind runs like crazy. :). (God using a situation that has been hard and bringing something really sweet out of it. Isn’t this almost unbelievable?)

Our first decision that we are considering is floors. I honestly feel like this can make all the difference in a space.  I plan on using one main flooring with a few accent rooms here and there.  Since this house is much smaller, I will be using a much lighter color on the floors this time.  I think that using a continuous flooring throughout the house helps make it feel bigger as well.

Give me all the pretty light floors.

Right now, we are debating between light hardwoods

and luxury vinyl plank.  I love the hardwood tile, but I know tile is a beast to pull up if we change our minds ever.  🙂

I think this honey oak is as dark as I will go potentially

or maybe something super farmhouse like this but still in the lighter tones. 🙂

Also, Rob and I have been discussing the stained concrete floors quite a bit lately as well…if we are needing to save on budget, this can be quite pretty and allows for super easy installation of hardwoods later if we want. 🙂

They can even make it look like hardwoods or marble.

That’s crazy and so neat, right?  You know what really makes me go gaga though?  All the specialty tile that is available these days.  I can’t even handle how cute this would be in a laundry room.

This is a must for me, and I am so excited to see this come to life. 🙂 Also, I love this subway tile below for a laundry or mudroom.  SOOOO cute.

It would also be darling on a front or back patio as well. 🙂 Let’s be honest though…I’ve never met a herringbone pattern that I didn’t like. 🙂

And in a floor, there’s no exception, it seems. 🙂

Hopefully, I’ll have even more details in the next few weeks.  If you have questions about the building process, please leave them in the comments and I will try and answer them in the upcoming updates.  I will see you back here on Friday for a little Target fun!   I can’t wait!   XOXO N

These Days

Happy Monday, friends!  I am so happy to be with you guys right now!   Today, I am just sharing a little bit of this and that from these days.

What I am watching

Okay, I am on the 3rd eipsode of this, and I can’t tear myself away. I am not sure I love it, but it’s super well done and I feel compelled to watch it because I need to know how it ends.  Episode 1 starts with a big cliff hanger, and now I need to know what went down.  haha!

How I am seeing people show up during this season

Someone dropped off the cutest batch of MAY FLOWERS and I absolutely loved this cute tradition that they have.  I had never heard of this (where you leave flowers on friends and family’s doorsteps on 5/1) but it’s a thing…and I am loving it.

House Stuff

On Saturday, we had our house inspection which meant we were displaced out of the house for most of the day. We went and looked at a potential house (it was a no), scoped out the condo we will be staying in while we build ( I can’t wait to show it to you! It’s SO CUTE!!)  and finished it with Mexican.

At the restaurant, I noticed how sweet Presley’s natural waves were looking in her high pony tail.

A Little Bit of Truth

My friend posted this on his social media this week, and it’s so very true..

Date Night

And finally Rob and I had a little date night where we checked out some of the land that we love.  I am not going to lie, we are pretty smitten.

It’s not hard to see why.  We went to check out the sunset and it did not disappoint at all.  Isn’t the field pretty in the sunset light?

Window Chats

Also, these two often hang out in this spot, and I couldn’t love them more.  They look so grown up here, so I needed a quick picture to remember it by.

These days…full of God’s faithfulness…we are beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel, and it is so very sweet to see happen.  Thank you, Lord.

I will see you back here on Wednesday!

Kids Devotional Ideas, Christian Books, and Bible Studies

Hey, y’all!  Happy Friday from my home to yours!

Today, I am sharing what I have ordered recently as far as devos and Christian Literature goes.  I’ve talked about this a few times before, but I always like to update this list as I order and check out new things!  During these times, I find that my heart just needs this kind of Truth.  How about you?  If yes, then check it out!

Girls Devos

Presley just wrapped up her latest devotional, so I grabbed this devotional for her to try

and I love that it is geared toward the tween years especially.  It’s hard to believe that we are in this stage for our baby girl, but here we are! 🙂

and this devotional for her to work on during her quiet time after that.  I have to say that this extra time has made quiet time for the kids so much easier to encourage on a consistent and daily basis.

Boys Devos

While I was at it, I picked up this devotion for Luke and for him to work on.

and this devotional as well.  I love that it links God and Science together, and the author of this one is legit!  I love the Giglios.

What I am reading

So many of my friends have read and loved this following book.  So, I am excited to add this to my reading queue and ordered it and the next one as a special treat for me. If you are looking for a book that speaks into the reset that we are experiencing then check it out.

And, the topic of this book is so timely for this quarantine….especially if you find yourself battling with anxiety.

I started reading this one last night and can’t wait to share my thoughts with you!

And, finally, I am doing this sweet study with a group of ladies at my church and I am thoroughly enjoying it!  It’s an Old Testament study that is proving so very appropriate as we all find ways to deem his Trustworthy in our current lives.

I was super impressed by the amount of reading in this study, and the application is so very sweet for whatever your personal season is in tandem with what we are walking together as a world. 🙂 I would recommend it for sure!

What are you reading right now? If you have a recommendation, leave it in the comments! Have the best weekend, friends!! Xo

Day in the Life and some Dreamy House Inspiration

Happy Wednesday, friends!  If you need me, I will be over on my Instastories for a Day in the Life.  These kinds of posts are always my favorite!  I hope you enjoy it also. In the meantime, I wanted to share the dreamy Pinterest boards that I have been working on over here :).  Right now, I am in the fun planning stage of building..where I am dreaming up what we’d like our spaces to look like.   I just love this part so much.  Right now, I am costing out different things, and it has been so cool to kind of pull apart and determine.  I’ve always been a quick decision-maker when it comes to home stuff, so this is right up my alley!  I went ahead and completely revamped my Pinterest and broke it down into different boards so it was easier for me to keep track of and for you to follow along with.  So, if you need a little farmhouse inspiration, check them out. I will see you over on the gram, friends! XOXO Narci
